Venerable Justin of Celije, a great theologian and monk, was a spiritual leader of the Celije Monastery and made a lasting impact on Orthodox tradition. Despite being removed from his post by the atheist regime, he dedicated himself to writing and service, celebrating the Divine Liturgy daily until his death. Born on Annunciation Day in 1894 in Vranje, his works encompass theological and philosophical writings in 33 volumes and 12 volumes of “The Lives of the Saints.” Saint Justin left a spiritual legacy and testament to have his works published, contributing to the building of the Celije Monastery.
\nA triptych is a work of art composed of three connected parts, most often painted or carved, which together form a single whole. In Christian art, especially in the Middle Ages, the triptych was used as an altarpiece or part of an iconostasis.
\nThe central part is usually the largest and depicts the main scene\u2014most often Jesus Christ, the Holy Theotokos (Mother of God), or saints of our Church.
\nThe side panels are foldable and typically feature saints, angels, or the Lord and the Theotokos.
\nIt is practical for transport, which made it popular in the Middle Ages among traveling believers and priests.
