The Milesev\u0430 Angel is one of the most famous icons of Serbian medieval art, considered an icon of God’s wisdom. This icon originates from the Milesevo Monastery, founded in the 13th century, and depicts an angel with remarkable beauty and delicacy. The Archangel Gabriel is shown at the empty tomb of the Lord, pointing to the women myrrh-bearers, indicating the direction in which the Risen Christ went.
\nA triptych is a work of art composed of three connected parts, most often painted or carved, which together form a single whole. In Christian art, especially in the Middle Ages, the triptych was used as an altarpiece or part of an iconostasis.
\nThe central part is usually the largest and depicts the main scene\u2014most often Jesus Christ, the Holy Theotokos (Mother of God), or saints of our Church.
